TUNIX/SMS Authentication - Troubleshooting tips

Different issues can be experienced while using (attempting to use) the TUNIX/SMS-Authentication service;
several of these are not directly related to the TUNIX service itself but to a number of configuration options and interoperating systems and infrastructures.

The list below describes a number of issues that could be experienced due to browser settings;
It is recommended to rule out all these possible factors before referring to the network administrator and/or TUNIX.

Javascript:


  • Microsoft IE (7/8): Tools > Options > Security > Internet > Custom Level > Scripting [Disable/Enable/Prompt]


  • Mozilla Firefox 3.x Windows: Tools > Options > Content > Enable Javascript
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.x Linux: Edit > Preferences > Content > Enable Javascript
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.x Macintosh: Firefox > Preferences > Content > Enable Javascript
  • Whether present, Noscript should use a - temporary - exception or be disabled

Cookies:


  • Microsoft IE (7/8): Tools > Options > Privacy > Advanced > iOverride automatic cookie handlingi: off [default]


  • Mozilla Firefox 3.x Windows: Tools > Options > Privacy > Accept cookies from sites
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.x Linux: Edit > Preferences > Privacy > Accept cookies from sites
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.x Macintosh: Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Accept cookies from sites
